Chilthorne Domer Church School
Together we Love, we Aim High and we Celebrate!
On this page, you will find information about our extra-curricular sporting offer; news about upcoming fixtures; results; links to local clubs.
As a school, we offer a strong array of extra-curricular clubs and tournaments that cover the range of ages in the school. We are particularly proud that every child in Key Stage 2 is encouraged to join a sporting club or is invited to represent Chilthorne Domer Church School at a local sporting tournament.
If you feel that you would be available to volunteer some of your time to help run a sporting club, please see Mrs Chesterton who would love to hear from you.
Each class also participates in a minimum of 2 hours PE per week, more information available here:
Maintained schools receive funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport on offer. Schools are expected to publish how the premium has been spent during the summer term of each year.
We’re delighted to advise you that we’ve recently signed up to the School Swimming and Water Safety Charter, which means that we’re in partnership with Swim England, the national governing body for swimming in England.
As a school we take school swimming seriously and will work together with Swim England to ensure we are delivering consistently high quality swimming and water safety lessons for your child.
Providing reward and recognition for your child
During their school swimming and water safety lessons your child will be working towards achieving the eight different levels of Award. Each has a certificate and sticker.
School Swimming Champion – your key contact
As the school’s designated School Swimming Champion, Mrs Chesterton is now the central point of contact for yourselves, your child, school staff, and our swimming lesson provider.
Your role is vital
We take school swimming seriously and hope that you’ll join us in encouraging your child to take part and do their best during lessons.
As well as making sure your child has everything they need to participate in their school swimming sessions, it’s important that you take an active interest in your child’s progress in learning to swim.
Together we can ensure that school swimming and water safety is an enjoyable, memorable and valuable learning experience, which will result in your child gaining an essential life skill.
After another great year of school sport, we are thrilled to announce that, in 2023, for a fifth year running, we have been awarded the GOLD standard for our school sport offer which means we have now achieved the highest PLATINUM standard!
This wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of school staff to run sporting clubs, the enthusiasm of volunteers to provide our learners with new opportunities and especially the parents without whom we couldn't attend the competitions.
Thank you all!
