We Stand Tall, Aim High and Love Learning

Maple Class

Welcome to Maple Class!

We are a mixed year 2 and 3 class who embrace all areas of learning!

Our teacher is Mrs Williams and we are brilliantly assisted by Mrs Frost.

Dear Maple adults and children,

Welcome to Summer Term in Maple Class in 2021!

Summer term will be packed full of learning and fun: all details can be found on the termly overview below.

In our theme of "The Living World" we will be focusing on rivers, mountains and the water cycle. We will be linking this to the modern fable, "The Fate of Fausto" and creating our own tales. We are scanning codes and collecting data about plant growth in computing and answering the question, "Why should we keep active and well?" in PSHE, PE and Science

We will also be celebrating the 150th birthday of our school in a myriad of ways! Watch out for our country dancing!

Class Dojo:

Please check the class story on Dojo to see what your children have been up to during their school day. We love receiving your comments.

  • Reading records are checked daily, and changed on completion. This half-term, Year 3 children will complete book reviews on books read at home and school.

  • Maths homework is set weekly via Mathletics and links directly to the curriculum: this half-term - addition and subtraction, multiplication and division. TT Rockstars practice is also set to improve and maintain fluency in response!

  • Spellings are tested on Fridays, when new spellings are issued. Please continue to use Spelling Shed, which is definitely supporting your children in achieving consistently high scores!

  • Once a term a project is also set for the children to demonstrate particular writing, editing and presentation skills!
