Our first half-term is almost complete, and what a happy term it has been for us all!
We have been working really hard on our times tables and dividing also. In order to support you at home with this, (in addition to TTRockstars), I am attaching some times tables resources for your use. Year 2's should focus on 2, 5, 10 and 3 initially, and Year 3's should aim to be fluent in 2, 5, 10, 3, then, 4 and 8. If your child is ready to tackle additional times tables, then that would be fantastic too!
There is no expectation for you to complete additional home learning during the Summer holidays, but I am attaching some resources below if you would like to have a look. They will give you a guide to expectations in Year 3 and Year 2, but please remember that these are for the end of the year! We will have plenty of time to gently assess where your child "is" in September and how to help him/her move forward.
I know that your child may be experiencing a range of emotions about returning to school in September. I will be devoting lots of time to supporting your child's mental health and wellbeing. Below, you will also find some resources which I have already added to the Curriculum page under a Recovery rainbow image on the school website. I will be revisiting the stories with the children but please share them if you think it is useful.
To find out more about what to expect in Maple Class, keep an eye on this class page and I will post additional information during the summer holidays.
Please check the class story on Dojo to see what your children have been up to during their school day. We love receiving your comments.
Reading records are checked daily, and changed on completion.
Maths homework is set weekly and links directly to the curriculum
Spellings are tested on Fridays, when new spellings are issued
Once a term a project is also set for the children to demonstrate particular writing, editing and presentation skills - further information to come!
