Digital Leaders - Safer Internet Day 2026

The Digital Leaders present to children and parents about AI on Safer Internet Day 2026.
On Wednesday 11th February, we did an assembly about A.I (Artificial Intelligence). We shared how to use AI safely and how to make good choices. People discussed things that we have covered in the past including plagiarism. We also talked about the positives of A.I including how you can use if for music and how creative it is. However, we also talked about how you should be 13 years old to be using A.I therefore, if you are using it, you should be in a room with an adult. We also discussed different scenarios like ‘Is it ok to use AI to help with homework?’ or ‘Is it ok to use AI to make up silly names for people at school?’ The children had to put their thumbs up if they thought it was a good use of AI and put their thumbs down if they thought it wasn’t a good use.
We also spoke about PEGI ratings. These ratings are on games and apps, and they are there to tell you which you can play to keep you safe.
Please make sure you use AI safely and, if you are worried about anything talk to an adult.
