In this year of intentional prayer across our diocese perhaps we can make time to give thinks for those who work so hard behind the scenes in our communities, in our families.

Heavenly God

Thank you for all who serve in humility, for the benefit of others

Thank you for the great work, so often behind the scenes

May you richly bless those whose work is hidden and yet is still essential

Help me, whatever roles I may have, to walk humbly, seeking to serve rather than be served

Amen

Unchanging God, we pray for children and young people in our schools and colleges. We pray for those who will be moving to new places of education this autumn; those starting school for the first time and those who find school particularly challenging.
