Online Safety Trail

Digital Leaders create an exciting trail to encourage discussions about Online Safety.

The Digital Leaders have been working really hard to find a new way to keep the discussion around online safety alive.  Online safety is such a huge part of our lives, and we are proud of the impact that our Digital Leaders have on the children in our school.

This year, the team has decided to create a special trail around the school with various questions focusing on the theme of online safety. Your child will come home with their trail map on Friday 10th July.

  • On the front of the sheet:  You will find a map of our school with 9 different coloured stars, as well as a place to put your child's name and class.
  • On the back of the sheet:  You will find 9 boxes with the matching coloured stars on.  This is where you can write your answers to the questions.

The aim of the trail is not to catch any one out or to cause worry, but rather to spark meaningful conversations about online safety.  You will be able to find the trail posters around the school starting Monday 13th July, allowing you to have those conversations before school and after school. All of the trail clues are visible to see from within the playground or field areas.  You DO NOT need to enter any of the school buildings to find the trail questions.

For children who regularly attend breakfast club and tea time club, I will email out the trail questions on Thursday 16th July so that they also have the opportunity to participate if they wish. Furthermore, Mrs Bond will be leading the Year 6 enterprise stalls from 3pm on Thursday 16th July, which will provide you with extra time on the school site to visit the question stations.

Please return the trail sheets to Mrs Stradling by 4pm on Friday 17th July.  During the week of the 20th July, the team will visit each child that has completed the trail with a small sweet treat.

We hope you enjoy the trail,

Mrs Stradling and the Digital Leaders
