Today Ash Class learnt that on Tuesday next week it will be Remembrance Day, where we will think about those who fought in the wars in the past but also for those soldiers who look after us today. We read the story ‘Where the poppies now grow’ by Hilary Robinson and Martin Impey and then watched the special CBeebies animation about Remembrance.

We talked about how Mrs Carter will be playing her special bugle for the song The Last Post with some of her friends. We discussed how we will stand on the playground and be silent for 1 minute – this shows our respect for the soldiers. This year is the 80th year since the war ended, so it is even more special.
