Self isolation

What to do if you feel that your child needs to self isolate

We understand that there are various reasons why you may feel that your child needs to stay at home with the current situation.  This may be because they are displaying symptoms of a cough or high temperature, or that they have been in contact with a confirmed case, or that you have family at home who are either in vulnerable categories or displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a shortness of breath).

If this is the case, please inform the school on the first day of your child's absence. You do not need to continue to ring each day once we have been informed. The current guidelines say that the effected person needs to isolate for 7 days and family members living in the same house need to self isolate for 14 days and at least 7 days after any symptoms develop.

As the school is still in full operation, it is not possible to provide work packs for every child as teachers are still working flat out with their classes as usual.  However, we would ask any children who are self isolating (and who are well enough to do so) to continue reading regularly and using website subscription we have such as Mathletics and Times Tables Rockstars. As soon as teachers are able, they will add tasks/activities to the self isolation learning resources pages. There is a link to these below.

There is also a couple of website links below which are free for parents to register on.  We would encourage you to have a look on these sites and allow your child some time to complete activities. There are some activities to print out and others which children can engage with online.  We have uploaded the packs from Classroom Secrets to the self isolation learning resources page.

If we reach the point where the school needs to close, further activities will be posted on the self isolation learning resources page of our website.

Thank you.
