Safer Internet Day 2022 took place on Tuesday 8th February and we celebrated the day with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.
Safer Internet Day inspires a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
Respectful Relationship Recipes and Kinder Internet Spells
During the day, our Digital Leaders were very busy presenting an assembly to KS2 in the morning with scenarios about how to stay safe, as well as how to be kind online for KS1 in the afternoon.
Here is a special write up from our Digital Leaders, Harry and Raul:
ONLINE SAFETY WEEK
This week (8th February) we have been celebrating Safer Internet Day. As digital leaders we did a little assembly on how to have a respective relationship online.
We talked about different ways to be friendly and safe online.
For example: we talked about how to behave online, be friendly online and what to do if some mean online.
KS1 made a spell on how to be kind online and KS2 made a recipe on how to make a friendship and to be kind online

Take a look below at some of the wonderful spells and recipes the children created.
One of the Digital Leader team also chose to design, in their own time, a presentation about staying safe online to help make others aware of how to stay safe.
Safer Internet Day 2022 will be celebrated on February 8th with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.
Our Safer Internet Day 2022 Challenge:
Across the school, all of the children have been thinking about how they can create a 'kinder' internet. This encouraged the children to think carefully about how they show respect online and ensure that they make positive relationships. In EYFS and KS1, children have been focusing on making a spell for a kinder internet, where as the children in KS2 have been creating a respectful relationship recipes.
