Please see below SPAG  tasks uploaded not just for this week, but until the end of term. Please work through the activities as you can and in a way that suits your Home learning schedule. I have uploaded a SPAG paper, one for each of the remaining 3 weeks of term. If your child has any difficulty with a particular area please send me a message on Dojo and I will direct you to some resources to support.

Many thanks for your continued support with Home Learning.

Dear Beech Class,

I hope you have enjoyed having a week of school work and enjoyed the sunshine with your families.

Numeracy will continue to be set via White Rose Home Learning - videos and worksheets will be uploaded below for each day. Please spend a little time each day practicing those timetables. Activities will also be set on Mathletics and Purple Mash so keep signing in a checking what you need to complete.

Each week I will upload a grid with some extra activities you may wish to complete with your children - these will be some of the activities we will be completing in school. These will range from a variety of different subjects and are entirely optional to complete.

Continue with your spellings weekly - if you are behind do not worry just continue from where you left off. If you have run out of space in your spelling book a practice sheet has been uploaded below for you to print if you can.

In addition to the Literacy, Phonics and Numeracy that is uploaded for you weekly a new home learning grid with wider curriculum tasks will be added for you to complete if you choose to. I hope these task offer you different opportunities form Home Learning with your children. Our shelter topic is also continuing and you can complete activities from there also if you wish.

I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful work I know you will be up to! Well done Beech Class - keep smiling, I am very, very proud of you!

PHONICS UPDATE FOR YEAR 1 PARENTS.

Dear Parents,

You may have seen that the DfE is producing a phonics scheme of work for children within Reception and Year 1. Each day has a sound focus and the video has a specific time that it goes live for, however if you are unable to watch at this time the upload will then be there for the rest of the Summer term.

The times are as follows:

10 am – Reception Summer Term Phases 3 & 4. For Reception children who can blend and read words such as ‘fish’ ‘chat’ and ‘rain’

10.30 am – Year 1 Summer Term Phase 5. For Year 1 children who can confidently blend and read words such as ‘stamp’ ‘chair’ and ‘green’.

There is also a session at 11am focusing on learning to blend phase 2 sounds for Reception and Year 1 who require extra practice sounding and reading words such as ‘tap’ ‘cap’ ‘mat’ and ‘pat’.

Please follow the link above to watch the introduction video. Please do view the handy guide to Phonics as this gives an overview to understanding phonics. This link will also take you to the lessons daily.

The letter which sits alongside this scheme will be found under our Self Isolation tab.

Please do continue to read regularly with your children – I have set new reading books for all children on Active Learn. You will find your log in in the message thread on Class Dojo. Please make sure the books set are appropriate to your child’s reading level – if you are having any issues please message me and I can reset as required.

Alongside these lessons I will also produce weekly planning which you may use instead if you wish, this will go up daily.

Please do message if you have any questions.
