Week Beginning: 10th May 2021
If you have misplaced your sound mats or tricky word cards, please select the star above to find 'Tools To Help You Write'. Within this, you will also find a capital letter card to support your learning.
Please choose one activity for each day, from those that are listed below. If you would like to do more than one, please feel free to do so. Each day there is an activity (the top one of each day) that you do not need to use a printer for. This would be the activity that would be an adult directed / guided activity or one placed in provision for the children to access. There is no need to print anything for these. You can use the screen on your device to show an image to help you e.g. for the story map or setting pictures and then use paper or a little book / notepad that you already have at home. The other activities may require a printer but I am aware that some families find using a range of sheets helpful to keep their children focused, whilst they are working and other children simply enjoy doing more. Please select the activity that best suits your child. Each and every child is at a different place in their learning.
Phase 2 activities are those which focus on CVC words like cat, pig and dog, along with the tricky words I, go, no, to, the and into. Phase 3 activities are trickier and focus on the sounds that we are consolidating in phonics at the moment. These focus on the phonemes like sh, ch, ai, ee, oi, ure, air and ear, along with the tricky words he, she, we, be, her, my, all, are, was, you and they.
You can find the sound mats and tricky word cards, along with the capital letter card in the star at the top of this page titled 'Tools To Help You With Writing'.
Please make sure you have a go at the handwriting task on Friday before you move on to another challenge. If your child is still developing their fine motor skills, then you can focus on the first video of the individual letter, without any joins.
